Women are amazing, right? Especially the women living in Wales!

Let’s have a look at some of the hidden heroines who have made a huge impact on our lives here in Wales.

Did you know… that Betty Campbell MBE was the first and the only Black head teacher in Wales until her retirement in 1999? She was told that a working class black girl would never succeed but she proved people wrong in the most inspirational way! Listen to Betty’s  story here

Did you know that the first nursery school in Wales was here in the Rhondda?
Elizabeth Andrews was  one of the most influential Welsh female political activists of the early 20th century. Working with Pioneering educationalist Margaret Macmillan, they opened first nursery school in Wales on the hillside at Ynyscynon, Llwynypia, Rhondda, for 120 children in 1935.
